Originally from Burkina Faso, Adissa arrived in the United States with only a carry-on bag and without speaking a word of English. Through sheer determination and resilience, she has built a successful multi-million-dollar business that has employed over seventy employees, making significant contributions to her community.
Adissa’s entrepreneurial journey is marked by her decision to decline government assistance programs, choosing instead to forge her own path. She navigated an uplifting divorce while raising three young children as a single mother, ensuring that all her children attended college with little to no student loan debt. This showcases her commitment to their education and future success.
After graduating from college, Adissa faced significant employment discrimination, which only strengthened her resolve to succeed. Despite these challenges, she persevered and carved out her own path in the business and real estate sectors.

As the Owner, Founder, President, and CEO of TEI Electrical Solutions, Adissa was recently recognized by ABC Baltimore and the Governor’s Office. She served as a panelist for ABC Baltimore’s “ABCs of MWBE Certification Panel Discussion and Network,” where she shared her 26 years of experience in the day-to-day financial management of design and construction firms, with a specialty focus in construction accounting. Her insights on obtaining and leveraging the Minority & Women Owned Business Certification were invaluable to attendees.
Adissa was awarded the Governor’s Citation Award from the Government’s Office of Small, Minority & Women Business Affairs and Maryland’s business community. Nominated by the Frederick County Office of Economic Development, this award recognizes significant contributions to Maryland’s economy as a result of hard work, dedication, and commitment to excellence and success in business, the community, and the state.
Established in 2001, TEI Electrical Solutions has grown to achieve annual revenues of $25 million, with 80 to 100 employees and offices in Frederick and Baltimore. Adissa manages TEI’s day-to-day financial operations and provides executive oversight on all TEI contracts, supporting healthcare, research, DOD, and commercial facility design/build and design-bid-build projects. She ensures her team adheres to project goals, budgets, and schedules.
Adissa is deeply committed to her community, devoting her time to Habitat for Humanity, several local churches, and youth programs. She recently collaborated with Project JumpStart to mentor Baltimore City residents in an 87-hour pre-apprenticeship training program, resulting in five new employees at TEI. Her dedication to mentoring and community service underscores her belief in empowering others to achieve their dreams.
